COVID Safety Information

Lena’s practice is COVID safe, following guidelines from Queensland Health.

This means that the following applies:

Anyone attending sessions with Lena for therapeutic, business, Supervision or otherwise will be required to have double vaccinated status prior to appointments.

Lena’s client base includes people who are immune compromised, therefore all precautions in accordance to registration, insurance and Government guidelines will be upheld to ensure everyone’s safety.

Exemptions:

Lena will still see anyone who is not double vaccinated, however, this will need to be privately arranged to accommodate safety measures. Telehealth, Zoom and outside appointments will be considered. Please contact Lena to advise of any concerns related to this so a collaborative agreement can be made with consideration to the above conditions.

Australian Association of Social Workers

The AASW supports vaccination and strongly encourages all members, social workers and the broader public to be vaccinated if there is no medical contraindication. Vaccination of social workers will assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19 to the communities and peoples whom social workers work with, including people with complex needs and people experiencing vulnerabilities. Vaccination of social workers will also protect social workers from contracting COVID-19 at work.

We acknowledge that all social workers and more broadly, the Australian population will make their own decisions in this matter, and strongly encourage people to discuss any concerns with their trusted healthcare provider.

There are overarching obligations, including public health orders and industrial laws and rights, which make vaccinations mandatory. Mandatory vaccinations are not a new feature of the working and legal landscape. In this instance, the AASW highly recommends all individuals follow these obligations. The Fair Work Ombudsman has a dedicated COVID-19 vaccinations in the workplace website page, which may be of use in assessing and understanding your obligations.
